We have tasted some really cool and fun wines lately so we loaded up the Barnyard with the favorites for summer.
Casa Vinicola Zonin, Italy's largest privately held wine company, has launched Primo Amore, a new line of authentic and affordable, high-quality Italian wines with the American wine lover in mind. According to Francesco Zonin, "wine is all about love", and Primo Amore means "first love" in Italian. In keeping with the romantic theme, two of the wines - a white and a red - are named for a famous pair of "star-crossed" lovers. Primo Amore Romeo (red) and Primo Amore Juliet (white) are lively, effervescent, light and slightly off-dry wines that will seduce any palate.

Primo Amore Romeo - A semi-sweet and very pleasant wine with a distinctive raspberry taste, with youthful and appealing fruit, is ideal with cold meats, quiche or pizza. $8.49
Primo Amore Juliet - This charming white with delicate and festive fruit, is best enjoyed with appetizers, veggies, or pasta dishes. $8.49
Colombelle Red Wine from Gascony. Our customers have enjoyed soooo much the Colombelle White, that we just had to bring in this blend of Tannat, Merlot, and Cabernet! Serve slightly chilled to enjoy its soft and expressive array of ripe red and black fruits, such as cherry, plums, and blackcurrant. Yum! $10.99
Nieto Senetiner 2007 Chardonnay - New to the store, this 100% Chardonnay from the Mendoza region of Argentina has been aged in French oak and has hints of vanilla and tropical fruit tones. Le Mire Bianco 2007 - This blend of Trebbiano, Toscano, Malvasia del Chianti and Chardonnay from Italy is light bodied and fragrant, fresh and fruity, with citrusy, mouth-watering flavors. Enjoy with salads, omelets, shellfish, grilled fish or poultry. $11.49

This beauty rated 94 points in “Wines and Spirits” and is a huge Bordeaux blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. With aromas that range from olives to black earth and expressive red and black cherry flavors and black currants, this wine has a subtle balance of fruit and spice.
